Dogwood Canyon Nature Park
Dogwood Canyon Nature Park is a one-of-a-kind experience for nature lovers and adventure seekers of all ages. Covering 10,000 acres of pristine Ozark Mountain landscape, the park has miles of crystal-clear trout streams, dozens of cascading waterfalls, ancient burial caves, unique hand- built bridges and bottomless, blue green pools.
Much of this pristine beauty was damaged in April of 2017, when a major rain event in the Lampe, Missouri area flooded the Canyon. Subsequently, much of the Canyon was in need of repair and a face lift.
Redi-Rock and SI Precast were chosen to build several retaining walls at the entrance, which encompasses the new Watermill, restaurant and visitors center. However, if you are fortunate enough to visit Dogwood Canyon, and you should, don’t expect to see the Redi-Rock Limestone retaining wall blocks. Although Redi-Rock was needed to create the retaining walls, Mr. Johnny Morris, who opened Dogwood Canyon, chose to cover the Redi-Rock blocks with natural, local stone. SI Precast supplied 1,500+ blocks to create the up to 15ft. high gravity walls, which were then covered with natural stone. It seems that the configuration of natural stone could not be stacked to the required heights without the Redi Rock base, so we are doing are part, and proud to do so.
