Cole Hamels Home
When you’re given a chance to supply blocks for the entrance to a multi-million dollar custom home, that’s pretty exciting. But when that mansion belongs to an elite southpaw pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies, Cole Hamels, it’s truly special. This is what happened for Si Precast in 2010. Designed by Palmerton Parrish and installed by Gillespie excavation, several hundred Redi-Rock Cobblestone-textured retaining wall blocks were used to create the very attractive and functional entrance. Due to the height required, 15’ for the main wall that supported the driveway, 60” deep, 9” setback blocks were used on the 6 base courses.
Built above beautiful Indian Creek, a tributary of Table Rock Lake, the home was valued at 9.4 million when Cole and his wife Heidi donated the home to Camp Barnaba’s, a nonprofit based in Missouri. Since that time Hamels transferred to Chicago, where he still pitches today.
